We know that race affects health outcomes and that BIPOC communities have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19 and by environmental racism, including in Atlantic Canada. This is clear evidence of the inequity in our society.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; color: black;\">\u00a0Intersectionality should be a core tenet of health research. We recognize that racism exists within the research community and that there is much work to be done. #BlackInTheIvory <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 15.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; color: black; background: white;\">We support Dalhousie University\u2019s Vice-Provost, Equity and Inclusion, Dr. Theresa Rajack-Talley and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dal.ca\/news\/2020\/06\/12\/commitment-and-action-on-anti-black-racism--work-moves-forward-o.html\">formal acknowledgement<\/a> that \u201cwe have an obligation to provide an education and a community that works together to address systematic anti-Black racism and all forms of discrimination and intolerance.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"xmsonormal\" style=\"margin-bottom: 12.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif; color: black; background: white;\">Atlantic PATH is committed to being an anti-racist organization.
