Welcome to Atlantic PATH

About Us

Atlantic PATH is a population health cohort that recruited more than 34,000 participants in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador between 2009-2015. We are part of the Canadian Partnership for Tomorrow’s Health (CanPath), the largest longitudinal study of its kind with 330,000+ participants across all ten provinces.

Our research platform contains comprehensive behavioural, environmental, genomic, and clinical data. The size of the cohort and the richness of its epidemiological, clinical and biological data positions Canada amongst the world’s leaders in longitudinal cancer and chronic disease research.

Atlantic PATH participants are being followed over a period of 30 years. They contribute to questionnaire data, physical measures, and biosamples, including blood, urine, saliva, and toenails. The data can also be linked to provincial and federal health-related data sources.
